Michael Toribio will talk about the advantages and disadvantages and why filmmakers know how to make a movie but few have a single clue about how to go about monetising the fruits of their labours and distribution Mr. Toribio will explain the common misconceptions and myths about film distribution.
Michael Toribio was born in the Dominican Republic. He graduated from Hunter College of New York in 2002 with a Bachelor of English Arts and Cinematography. His main interest is focused on the film industry. He has developed his career as a producer and distributor in countries such as Canada, the United States, and the Dominican Republic. In 2009, Michael served as Investment Advisor and Director of Business Development for the CEO of Centric Health Corporation (TSX: CHH), Mrs. Brenda Rasmussen, in the development of Premier Rehabilitation Clinics, S.R.L. (“Premier Clínicas”), a medical complex located in Santiago de Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, which provides the basis for what the Canadian medical group Premier Health Group (TSX: PHGI) has developed so far, which allows the acquisition of much knowledge in the field. His filmography includes; “El rey de Najayo”, “La lucha de Ana”, “Vuelos prohibidos”, “Dos policías apurados”, “La máquina”, “Vuelo o muerte”, among others.
